Date: Feb 13, 1999. Orchard Hotel, Singapore coliseum.

Tonite is Faye 1st night concert in S'pore. We were at the hotel at abt 12 noon again. We met little Yuhui & her friend there. Their sister is a member of the hotel group & they'll be booking a room for tonite. Her friend's sister brought her 7 year old daughter along too. Little Yuhui's friend Yingying brought along a little Pooh bear, for Faye & Tongtong.

Again, we noticed that the band members all go in different ways. We saw DW again, since Yuhui & Yingying have not taken a pic with him, they asked if they can. DW agreed again! They took an instant polaroid one with DW, it came out immediately & we gave DW this pic for souvenir. (We gave Faye a pic of us too, taken in Orchard Hotel last nite, same polaroid pic, hehe, let her remember there's this crazy group of fans here in S'pore). They each took individual pics with DW again. DW is really friendly & he really likes little kids 'cos he's very relaxed when he took a pic with Yingying's niece, he specially squatted down too but he was more uptight when he took a pic with the mother. Since its polaroid film, the pic came out fast & we asked DW to sign on the spot & he's so agreeable.

Taking this great chance, I quickly take out my Chang You CD from my discman & asked DW to autograph as well. (I didn't bring DW's album along lah). Yuhui asked him to sign on Faye Random Thoughts album. DW asked how old is the little girl, his Beijing Mandarin is also very nice, he was surprised to learn that the little girl is 7 years old already 'cos she looks very small size mah. We asked him back abt Tongtong & he said "hai hao", (OK) but he smiled so fatherly-like when we talked abt Tongtong. We passed him the Pooh bear, telling him he must pass to Tongtong. He nodded his head gravely, hehe.

The band members all came back before 3pm 'cos they needed to assemble at 3pm to go to the indoor stadium. Faye appeared much later in the afternoon, probably she's tired? She appeared in a white top & grey pants. We told her "meet at the concert tonite" & she laughed & waved back.

We rest for a while & then headed for the indoor stadium earlier (with Xiaojing & Christine) 'cos we're afraid there might be a jam later. We heard Faye rehearsing there & even outside, we thought Faye voice sounds quite good. I just heard her practising "hua yan qiao yu", Shooting Star & Red Bean. We met the fayenatics there. They were at the stadium very early too.

Later, Faye came out to pray & those who're waiting outside went crazy when Faye appeared. She's very concentrated & sincere when she's praying. Just a short one on this 'cos she went in again quickly. We also prepared ourselves for the concert.

Frankly, for those of us who went to the HK concerts, we were quite disappointed with the stage design 'cos its really much smaller than the HK stage, there's fewer mechanisms & its not really high tech too. The indoor stadium sound system is not very good too & sometimes there's this awful echo here & there. (Our indoor stadium is really not good enough lah & S'pore does have more rules & regulations for concerts). Although the rules have been kinda relaxed, there must still be a 2m distance between the stage & the 1st row.) The design of the stage makes it impossible for Faye to come & shake hands with the audience lah

However, we thoroughly enjoyed the concert 'cos Faye vocal is really fayetanstic, her small & unique mannerisms, her charm are the highlights of the nite. The audience for tonite took sometime to warm up but all of us are very high into the concert. The fayenatics really did a good job, they managed to arouse all of us, one thing is we are really "higher" in this S'pore concert than in HK, maybe 'cos S'pore is our home mah? Faye could also feel our warmth. She was enjoying those Tongtong's clips while she sang YHSIH but when the stage rotated to our block, Faye was too captivated by us, hehe, she gotta turned around to wave & smile to us 'cos we're too spontaneous mah.

We went home after the concert while little Yuhui & Yingying went back to the hotel. We passed some Faye stuff for Faye to autograph & they promised to help us get back.
