the Dark Planet
plot
Professor Haggerty discovers that a Uranian plant he has been studying
can move and speak on an ultrasonic level. However, he believes that
the plant is quite young as it has not yet learned to speak its native
language. Raeburn sends Dart and his crew to Uranus get a recording
of the plants’ language. When they arrive, one of the plants attempts
to strangle Slim. Dart and Husky try to rescue him, but are held
back by more of the plants. While Dart returns to the Galasphere
to get the laser gun, Husky manages to fight off the plants and rescues
Slim. As they hurry back to the Galasphere, they narrowly avoid being
caught by the Uranians. However, they succeed in obtaining the recording.
notes
The Uranian plants would later appear in the episodes the
Invisible Invasion (in which they would first be referred to
as Duos) and the Jitter
Waves.
