DIAS NEWSLETTER
September 2007 Welcome to the September newsletter. Sorry it's a bit later than usual. Hope you can attend some of the following events. A BIG THANK YOU! Thanks to two citizen advocates who recently retired. "Sue Marshall has been a citizen advocate for 9 years, very loyally supporting first one lady, who died, and then her latest advocacy partner. She also took part in fundraising on sponsored walks and has been faithful to DIAS for all this time. Tony Belford has been an advocate for 10 years. During this time he has supported a number of different advocacy partners. Tony has also helped with recruitment, attending Open Evenings and training sessions to share his knowledge and experience with others. I am very grateful to both Sue and Tony for all the work they have done over the years and am sure you would all like to join me in wishing them both all the very best." Cath SPONSORED WALK UPDATE Thanks to the 12, foot-sore people who took part in the Sponsored Walk on Sunday 2nd September 2007! So far we have collected nearly 400. More details in the October newsletter. RECRUITMENT - DIAS Open Evening Tuesday 9th October at 6pm Number 10 Constitution Road The main aim of this evening is to provide information about DIAS and recruit potential volunteers for a training course. If you know anyone who may be interested in volunteering with DIAS, then please ask them to come along. Word of mouth has been shown to be the best way to interest new volunteers. Any partnership willing to come along and meet new volunteers should contact Cath as soon as possible. |
