J-CLUB IS OUT FOR THE SUMMER! Check back for updates and can't wait for next year!!!
NO CURRENT EVENTS NOTE: The scrollbox may not always appear correctly on Firefox browsers. May 23, 2006 (Social and Elections)
The next meeting is scheduled for sometime next week. Expect it to be a Wednesday Meeting. It's purpose will be to vote on our upcoming President and Vice-President of J-Club.
The next event to take place is the 2006-2007 School Year J-Club Officer Election.
Currently, our fundraiser is underway. Please go to Ms. Sable's room for more information and for the candy to sell. OVERVIEW posted on forum by

YAY! Twas a great success, the banquet/social and elections were! Here's the overview:
The social itself was pretty fun! Chris provided music, Alyssa provided games and TONS of awesome prizes along with ALL of the food, Ms. Sable brought cake, and various people dressed up. (DeeAnna, Sherrel, Tiffany, and I were all in some form of kimono.)
The food from Rice Garden was totally awesome! Sushi, rice, and noodles for all, along with chicken and such of course! Thank Alyssa for the food!!!
We played "Japanese Charades" where items such as Bruce Lee, Utada Hikaru, Land of the Rising Sun, Geisha, Teriyaki Chicken (though that one was a practice round), Chocobo, Final Fantasy, Origami, Cosplay, Jackie Chan, Nintendo, Mario, Luigi, and Kappa were acted out. (I think that was most of them...) Team 1 (Chris, Me, James, Jason, Brandon, and Lisa) won that round and got prizes.
Then came the big thing: ELECTIONS!!!
Your NEW Japanese Club President is... *drumroll*
ALYSSA
And your NEW Japanese Club Vice-President is... *crickets chirp*
JORDAN! (Me)
^.^ THANK YOU FOR THOSE WHO VOTED, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOUR VOTE WAS FOR ME OR NOT. Participation is a good thing!!!
We then had karaoke, were Jason, Chris, Hippie, Deysi, Tiffany, and a few others who escape my mind at the moment sang "HIT IN THE USA" by Beat Crusaders from the anime Beck.
Then it was over.
I'd like to say thank you personally to Ms. Sable and Alyssa who worked tirelessly to make the whole thing possible!
And I'd also like to extend fond farewells to our two seniors: President Hippie and Anime-nia Ambassador Chris (I love you both!). WE'LL MISS YOU!!! *glomps* May 3, 2006 (Meeting)
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 3 at 4:00. Current details are unknown. As soon as I'm informed, I'll post! OVERVIEW posted on forum by
TheCosplayJunkie:
Alrighties. This meeting was a meeting of business!!!
We have finally decided on a way to spend the fund raising money: Our end of year bash!!! It will (tentatively) be held in the 9th grade cafeteria. It will be a catered/voluntarily brough food items event and will have music and door prizes. Girls can wear a kimono, and guys can wear a kimono/yukata with hakama! (Contact me if you want me to make you one; so long as you buy the materials, I have no problem in making one. Just find me as soon as possible!!!) Semi-formal dress is also okay. (From what I can understand, there really isn't a set dress code; ask Alyssa if you have questions on that!)
Secondly, Alyssa had her say on the board. I have no business meddling into that situation, so if you want to know what was said, I'll tell you this: The board has now been disestablished.
Chris and Hippie announced the "Anime-nia Springtime of Youth" Tournament Series. Email Chris ([email protected]) if you want more information on that.
Pocky was randomly given out to different people!
The Suggestion Box was reinforced; SO MAKE SUGGESTIONS FOLKS! No more complaining about what's wrong! Give ways that the club can improve! That's the only way things will get fixed!!!
FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: OUR NOMINATIONS FOR NEXT YEAR'S ELECTIONS ARE SET. (Aside from the positions that will be reconsidered next year to account for new members) Below is a list of the nominations and links to the different threads where you can campaign for them:

VICE-PRESIDENT

HISTORIAN

TREASURER

ANIME-NIA AMBASSADOR

ART AND ADVERTISEMENT
Click Here to Campaign for Deysi
NOTE: VICE PRESIDENT AND PRESIDENT WILL BE ELECTED THIS YEAR! ALL OTHER POSITIONS WILL BE VOTED ON NEXT SCHOOL YEAR TO ACCOUNT FOR NEW MEMBERS!!!
ALSO: I kindly ask that, when campaigning, you don't post, "Well, so-and-so is horrible so you should vote for so-and-so. I, the Admin, will consider that bashing and will delete that post and suspend your account. Please only campaign for one person per position. I don't want a multiple of posts saying "I like so-and-so; vote for them." REAL and LEGITIMATE reasons will be much more helpful. If you campaign for one person per position, your arguments and reasoning will be much more legit.
EXCEPTION: The position of Art and Advertisement may require up to two people, as will Historian, so you may campaign for two people in those positions.
You may post in other campaign topics with QUESTIONS, if you want clarification on their ideas and goals for next year's club.
THANK YOU!!!
Next meeting is undecided, though soon for the Prez and Vice-Prez elections! March 8, 2006 (Meeting)
NOTICE! The next J-Club meeting will be held this week on Wednesday, 3/08 after school in Rm K132. I can't say what exactly is gonna happen yet. If we can, we'll hand out the candy and stuff to sell, permission forms for the fieldtrip, do t-shirts, etc. It's a lil short notice, but if we hold off the meeting any longer then we won't have much time to do some of these things.
To recap:
PS- If I forgot to mention anything, or wrote something incorrect, pls email or pm me. Thank so much everyone! Keep on Trucking. Bai! <3

Our shortest meeting yet. 20 minutes! >w< We only discussed a few basic things.
Note from TheCosplayJunkie: The original board is offline. Until there is a new topic posted on this matter in the new forum, the link will remain useless
That's pretty much all we talked about, hence the need for only 20 minutes. ^^ If I forgot anything, please let me know. Thanks guys! Remember, we'll be having a meeting the week we get back from spring break. It will be a *drum roll* movie night!
February 15, 2006 (Meeting)
NOTICE!
Talent Show Night! And while we're on the subject, if you're in the club and would like to participate in the show, please stop by Ms. Sable's Room (K132) and request the the talent show form. You must fill it out and return it to her by Monday, 2/13. Doing so will help things run much smoother on Talent Show Night. Thx! ^^
Also, we will be discussing the fundraiser further. We will no longer be doing the bake sale because it's been realized that it'd be way too complicated to get together and do it since we're all in seperate classes. Instead, we will most likely be selling candy. I'll provide further info on the night of. See you there! ^^

Much good stuff happenin on this meeting!!
The results of the Talent Show as is follows
---------------------------------------
Jordan Mahilum-3rd Place (The Real Folk Blues from Cowboy Bebop by Yoko Kanno)
--------------------------------------
Talks about the field trip to the Japanese Gardens ensued, reaching a date for the trip on April 1, 2006. Ready yourselves by getting these things: $$$$$$$$$$$$$ at least $4 for entry into the gardens and extra money for lunch afterwards.
--------------------------------------
The Bake sale fundraiser fell through, but ol' Alyssa had a plan. She bought a box of suckers from Sam's at around $7 and turned around and sold them for around 25 cents to 50 cents a piece, generating much needed profit. Please contact her for more details.
--------------------------------------
On that note, the money collected will be diverted towards a banquet at the end of the year unless other good suggestions arise. Please attend the next meeting if you would like your vote to count.

and some other ideas like that. I know there were a few more ideas, and I am sorry that I cannot remember them.
November 2, 2005 (Meeting/Japanese Cuisine Night)
Alright, for those who were unable to attend the meeting, Alyssa and Hippie have announced that November 2nd will be the next J-club meeting as well as the Japanese Food night.
Some details are still up for grabs, but what I do know is that Japanese food will be available to all those who attend (even non-members). Hopefully, Alyssa and Hippie will be able to get the J-club out to the public so we can attract more members. There will be a fee for non-members so they are able to come and dine with us, but as far as I know, current members who have paid their dues can get in for free!
Please spread the word about this as Alyssa will be working hard on posters and banners to be placed all over the school advertising the J-club!
Thanx much

Not much else to report and I am unsure of the next meeting time, but if we are following the every other week schedule, the next meeting should be November 16th!

Alrighty, well we went over the common sense rules for everyone who had no clue. And there is the Japanese Cuisine Night on Nov. 2nd, which is the same night that is our next J-club meeting!
Ash (VP Alyssa), is planning to make poster and banners advertising our club so all of you ppl who made logos that were for the logo contest, bring em by to Ash so she can get those scanned and formatted! A lot of the different logos were good and she would really like to use them!
For the Cuisine night,
Follow these guidelines:
Maybe we should put the name of the dish on a little card in front of the dish so ppl won't be shocked about what is in there.
ALRIGHT!
Thanx Much
September 28, 2005 (Meeting/Movie Night)
Alright! Bring you snacks and drinks, 'cuz it's movie night! We'll be watching Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, so prepare to read some subtitles!!! Also, if you didn't already pay, REMEMBER YOUR DUES! I'm bringing pocky, yan-yan, and Ramune (hopefully, that's only if my mom's feeling generous)... I'm probably taking along popcorn too...
Logo entries are due on this date!!! OVERVIEW posted on forum by

The DHS J-club has decided on a new logo!
September 21, 2005 (Meeting/Show and Tell Night)
NOTICE!
As of now, I am not sure what we have planned for the next meet. But don't forget the Logo Contest! Design a logo for the J-Club and you just might win absolutely nothing! ^^ Actually, who knows, maybe I'll buy you a box of Pocky if you win. I know many of you artistic member are really excited about this contest, so I am looking forward to seeing your awesome designs! Oh and remember it has to be approved by Mr. Chri...I'm not even gonna try to spell his name- so don't draw anything that violates school rules. Though, I'm sure no one will. ^^
Also, since the next meet is two weeks from now, so I decided why not have a Show-and-Tell! =D Bring your drawings, Japanese food, maybe sing a J-pop song or two, anything as long as it has to do with Japanese culture. This is your chance to show off so don't miss it! ^^
Anywho, to recap:
PS- If I forgot to mention anything, or wrote something wrong, pls email or pm me. Thankers muchness everyone! Keep on Trucking. Bai! <3
Alrighty, I believe that this meeting went very well. The amount of talking was a little too high and cause a bit of a backup, but we got that all fixed up really quickly. The show and tell went very well and had much participation. Flags, plushies, singing (great job alyssa! =^^=) , and even Bob Saget made this show and tell much fun. From the looks of the different faces in Sable-sensei's room, I think I saw a couple new faces, which added to the extremely good turnout.
The membership dues were a little questionable, but not to worry, Hippie will be more than happy to take up your $5 dues at any time. PLEASE IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID YOUR DUES, GET THAT MONEY TO HIPPIE ASAP!
Remember guys!
We hope to see everyone there!
-J-Club Officers September 14, 2005 (Meeting)
On the first meeting of the DHS J-club, not much had happened. Basically, it was the assembly of our crew of officers, getting to know each other and sharing ideas and plans for the J-club.
Some of the important officers I remember are:
President-Sensei Hippie
There are some others like historian, webmaster, and things to that effect, but i forget their names and positions (sorry! =^^=;;;;;)
An art contest has been set up for designs of the J-club shirts and logo. More details, ask Hippie, but it is really self-explanatory. A forum (DUH) was made especially for the DHS J-club as well.
We decided that our meetings would take place on wednesday, but Ms. Sable also has Latin club, so we might have to change the day. Remember that the wednesday 9/21, has been changed to the next meeting day instead of the wednesday 9/14 because of Ms. Sable's Latin Club.
That's about it!
