Josephine Richeson, 93, of Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado and formerly of Shawneetown, died 3:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center. She was born Jan. 6, 1907, in Hardin County, to Clint and Annie Belle (Winters) Cruse. She married Herman Richeson Nov. 4, 1926, in Cave-in-Rock. He preceded her in death Sept. 8, 1959. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Shawneetown. She is survived by a daughter, Francis McCabe of Shawneetown; a stepdaughter, Vena Denton of Elizabethtown; two granddaughters, Janice and husband, Gary Hall of Ridgway and Lynn Baldwin of Shawneetown; a sister, Lois Hobbs of East Alton; two brothers, Lloyd Cruse of Ridgway and Seba Pennell of Rosiclare; four great grandchildren, Toni and husband Jeff Drone of Ridgway, Jim Hall of Ridgway, Greg Duvall and wife, Traci of Ridgway and Wesley Duvall and wife, Melisa of Kansas City, Mo.; and four great-grandchildren, Dillon Hall, Andrew Drone, Kassie Duvall and Trevor Duvall, all of Ridgway. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Gertie Grounds, Myrtle Holloway and Ethel McDowell, and a brother, Everett Cruse. Funeral services were 1 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown, with the Rev. Leo Hall officiating. Visitation was 10 a.m. to service time today at the funeral home. Burial was in Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown.
