Disc Golf Man's Website - October 2000
Welcome to my Innova Discs review page. These are my reviews of Innova line discs. Just because I don't give it a good review, does not mean it's a bad disc! It is my personal opinion of the disc. If you would like to add or revise a review, please e-mail it to me.

Drivers:

Ram
One of the most overstable discs on the market. No headwind will turn this disc over, none. This disc was designed for the profession golfer and no beginning player should use this disc.

Whippet
A Small diameter wind disc. This is one of Innova's farthest flying discs. The Whippet will hold it's line in the strongest of winds.

Banshee
The Banshee is a very overstable driver by Innova. It will handle the hard snap of an experienced player, and won't turn over. NOT RECOMMENED FOR A BEGINNER!

Viper
A former world distance record holder. This is a very high speed driver, and very overstable driver. This disc will go where you want it to even in the strongest of headwinds.

Scorpion
The Scorpion has a very long, nice glide. Has a good float and will fly a long way with the wind.

Gazelle
The Gazelle is an Ultra Long Distance Driver. It is a very good beginner's disc and is very slightly overstable. Has a nice glide and small fade at the end.

Eagle
The Eagle is also an Ultra Long Distance Driver. It is a very long flying driver with a nice fade at the end for predictability. Feels like an XL with a smaller diameter and different plastic. Flies similar to a Gazelle.

Teebird
From the Eatle family, the Teebird will fly a long, long way. It has the same carry as the Eagle, but won't have as much high speed turn and has less low speed overstability.

Pegasus
A very stable driver. Even after treatorous abuse, the Pegasus will still hold it's line.

Raven
Another high speed driver. This stable disc will glide a long way; even through the wind.

Cheetah
The Ceetah is also one of Innova's Ultra Long Distance Driver series. The Cheetah is one of my favorite drivers because it is slightly understable. To make this disc understable, you just have to throw it flat and at high speeds. It is good for the player who doesn't like to, or can't throw anhyzer and needs an understable disc.

Stingray
A very nice understable driver; understable at high speeds and overstable at low speeds. A nice beginner disc, or a nice roller for the more experienced player.

Mid-Range:

Roc
The Roc is arguably one of the best mid-range discs available. Being slightly overstable, this is a very predictable disc.

Cobra
The Cobra is a very good midrange disc. Slighly understable at high speeds, this is a very good mid-range disc. This disc will get you in the spots you need for Par.

Puma
The Puma is one of Innova's new series of drivers with the Tumbtrac grip. This is a very overstable mid-range disc that will go a long way with a strong fade at the end. It can also be used as a very good approach disc.

Wolf
One of Innova's new Thumbtrac drivers. Designed for straight and turnover shots. This dis has nice low speed fade and high speed turn.

Shark
One of the best all-around discs on the market. A great beginner disc, and nice, stable mid-range for the more experienced player.

Dolphin
Garunteed unbreakable under normal playing conditions, and floats in water! Available in only 150 Class.

Aero
A very good beginner disc. At medium speeds, this disc will still fly straight. Also, a nice long approach disc.

Aviar
The Aviar is a contender to be one of the best all-around discs in the world. A very stable disc that allows you to contryol allmost any shot you make.

Moray
With the glide of a Stingray and the stability of a Cobra, this is a nice, straight flying disc.

Classic Roc
One of the most stable discs on the market. When thrown flat, will go a long way with very little fade at the end. Being made in the classic model with a beveled edge, can be hard for someone new to the game to throw unless it's one of your first discs.

XD
A very nice approach disc. At lighter weights will be very, very understable.

Panther
A very good understable mid-range disc. Thrown slightly anhyzer, will have a very productive understable flight. This disc can also be thrown a very long way.

Hammer
One of my roller/turnover discs. This is a very good disc for those shots that you need to throw over the tree to get next to the hole. This disc is only available at 180 g. This disc will also roll a long way. Hammerhead
A retooled Hammer. Like it's counterpart, garunteed unbreakable under normal playing conditions. Also is only available at 180 g. The Hammerhead is understable and floats in water. A nice roller disc.

Putt/Approach:

Piranha
A slow flying, overstable putter. A nice putter to have on windy days.

Thumbtrac Birdie
One of my putters. This disc is good for for those long putts that you can't make with the soft putters. Will go in and stay in.

Special Edition Soft Rhyno
My other putter. This disc will stick to the chains and go in no matter where you hit.

Aviar Putter
An Aviar made with softer material to keep it in the chains. This disc will give you the confidence to sink those long putts.

Polecat
An understable putter. This disc will go straight for those of you who are non-aggressive putters.
