Disc Golf Man's Website - October 2000
Welcome to my Discraft Discs review page. These are my reviews of Discraft line discs. Just because I don't give it a good review, does not mean it's a bad disc! It is my personal opinion of the disc. If you would like to add or revise a review, please e-mail it to me.

Drivers:

Xtreme
The Xtreme is one of the new editions to Discraft's Elite series discs. The Xtreme is almost, or maybe even more overstable than the super overstable Ram! No matter how you throw this disc, it will come back, hard. If you like rollers, GET THIS DISC! My friend rolled one almost twice as far as he can drive any disc!

X-Clone
The X-Clone is one of the most radically overstable discs on the market. It has a groove on the edge that fits your thumb on the edge, giving you that extra snap you need for long distance shots. Also, this makes a nice "tomahawk" disc.

Xtra
Discraft's new edition to their Elite line, the Xtra. Xtra stands for Xtra overstable. If thrown at high speeds, this disc is a nicely stable disc, and flies similar to an Eagle, however, this disc flies best when used on left, dogleg holes.

Cyclone 2
The Cyclone 2 is a more overstable version of the Cyclone. This disc is pretty much an X2, but doesn't go as far, and doesn't have the same plastic.

Maruader
The Maruader is pretty much a larger diameter Cyclone 2, made with the "cheap" Discraft plastic that the Eclipse is made of. This is still one of the nicer head wind discs on the market.

Typhoon
The Typhoon is yet another large diameter head wind disc. The Typhoon is made out of the Cylone plastic, so it will hold up nicely. This disc likes to hug the ground, a lot.

Cyclone
The Cyclone is arguably one of the best drivers on the market. The Cyclone holds two world distance records! This disc, when thrown flat and fast, will go straght with a nice fade at the end of it's flight.

X2
The X2 is the counterpart to the XL. The X2 won't go as far as the XL will, but gives you that extra fade that the XL won't. This is one of the better overstable drivers on the market.

XL
The XL currently holds the world distance record of 693'3"! The XL is an ultra long range driver, as you might've noticed. This disc will get you the extra distance other long range discs won't.

Mid-Range:

Vortex

The Vortex is one of the most radically overstable mid-range discs on the market. If you throw it flat, make sure to compensate for a lot of left hook, a lot. The Vortex has a weird rim shape, but it's still a very nice disc.

MRX
The Elite series mid-range disc! The MRX is an overstable mid-range disc made out of XL material. The MRX will give a little extra distance, while giving you a nice hook at the end.

MRV
The MRV is a stable version of the MRX. Since less stable discs are growing in popularity, Discraft is making the MRV to fit the trend. An excellent mid-range disc that will help any struggling player improve their game.

Comet
The Comet is one of the most stable mid-range discs on the market. When thrown flat, this disc will go straight, dropping straight on line, with little or no fade.

Eclipse
The Eclipse is an excellent understable driver. When you throw it, it will fade to the right instead of the left at the end, for an experienced player. For a beginner, this disc will fly very straight. After you beat this disc up a lot, it will make the perfect roller.

Stratus
The Stratus is a mid-long range driver. At high speeds, this disc is understable, however, it will fly pretty straight for a newbie. Because this disc is top heavy, it makes a great turnover/roller disc.

Putt/Approach:

Rattler
The Rattler is one great putter. This has a nice grip and feel, as well as superior flight. The Rattler was made for accurate, long putts and not for distance.

Magnet
An overstable putter. The Magnet is a good putter to have around on windy days. Like it's name, the Magnet is a magnet to the chains.

Soft Magnet
A Magnet with softer material so that it stays in the chains. Just like the Magnet, it's nice to have on windy days.

APX
The APX is the putter of the Elite series. Made of durable plastic, and stays in good condition. After a bit of use, the plastic becomes softer and stays in the chains better.

HD Hawk
The Hawk is one accurate putter. This disc, unlike the Rattler, is evenly stable. Made of the popular Cyclone plastic, this is one durable disc. An excellent first putter.
