Preparing to Drift

The main thing you want to focus on when preparing a car to drift would be the camber settings and the installation of a Limited Slip Differential.

Cambers basically allow you to tilt either your front or rear tires to certain angles. A negative camber setting will allow you to tilt your tires outwards thus providing more stability and control whereas a positive camber setting tilts the tires inwards and is basically useless. Leaving you camber setting at zero(neutral) will leave your tires as they are 90 degrees perpendicular to the ground.

A Limited Slip Differential(LSD) is the key to drift control. A LSD drives both rear wheels so when in a drift, the rear end of the car can keep a steady push throughout the corner. A car without a LSD installed will have trouble holding a drift, because one wheel is powering the rear of the car thus dragging the other wheel through the slide losing speed.
