The Adoption - Step 1
What started as a tribute to Case number 101187 has expanded! I'm in contact with the Agency (Angel's Haven) and talking to them about this boy. In other words, I'm taking the next step and moving to adopt Marin (the orphan formerly known as 101187)          He is described as:  "born on July 21, 1896 and has lived in an orphanage since he was a year old." Futher, he is "a very nice school boy and  a good basketball player. He is very studious and very much desires to be adopted." I hope to get more information very soon and, if all goes well and no one grabs him before I get my chance, Marin and I just might be a chosen family!
As advised by almost everyone who knows something about this process, I'm avoiding getting too attached BEFORE I get all the paperwork processed. It is possible that someone else could get there before me. That would be disappointing, of course, but it will work out as it works out.

There are obviously LOTS of issues and concerns, hurdles and  wickets to pass through between now and the final decree. I've read so much about other people's experiences that I feel like I've been though it once already! Instead this is just the beginning. I hope it works!
I feel like this is destined to be. I don't want to be let down but I've got to try! The reality is: I'm a 48 year old man wanting to adopt! Unfortunately, in our rather pathetic "modern" world, this is viewed as a handicap! "Men shouldn't want to adopt and if they do, they must be perverts" is the popular misconception! It ain't fair but it's a real prejudice! I just pray God will lead me down the path to having a son.
