A Bump - the first of many |

I'm having some trouble with the agency that represents Marin. I seem to be having trouble getting even the most elementary questions answered. I asked about Marin's height and weight, any pertinent medical info and a recent picture. The response was not as I expected. Rather than the pleasant factual response I expected, I got a curt "we can't give you that information" reply. I felt so disappointed! I explained my intentions and pleaded my case but the person said, I had to make a committment to adopt the child and THEN I could ask the questions and baring any overwhelming issues, I would be expected to follow through on that committment.

to adopt the children BEFORE they would field any questions. My experience so far has been that most are more than willing to give you at least the most elementary data, height, weight, any significant medical diagnoses, etc. For all I know Marin is 6 foot tall and 200 lbs and the picture on their web site is several years old! I feel so very disappointed!
I was all ready to go too! I had my I-600a form ready to send, the Home Study was being lined up, etc.
I'm still pressing the issue with the agency, but I can't sign an agreement to adopt a young man knowing nothing more than he plays basketball and is a good student. My heart says "GO!", but my mind says, "Get information!"
In the meantime, I'm exploring some other sites and they all give as much information as they can!
I think the lesson here is: "Fasten your seat belt! It's goingto be a BUMPY ride!" |
