The Long Wave Center

DEMOGRAPHIC DATA

We will begin with extremely basic materials and add as time goes on. Other demographic materials and reference papers on demography and business cycles, Kondratieff, and other relevant subjects will be gladly received.

The primary source for US demographic data, studies, methods, trends, and political/philosophical influences is the U.S. Census Bureau Subjects Index.

A starting point for Canadian demographic data is the Statistics Canada Census page. Also see the Statistics Canada main page.

French, Dutch, Australian , and Singaporean demographic/census sites will be supplemented by those of other nation states.

The United Nations Population Information Network (POPIN) has had its budget shrunk, but it remains a good source for world demographic data.

The Georgetown University United Nations Guide is an excellent starting point for searching the entire corpus of UN documents including world demography.

The UN's OECD Data Base on education, employment, labor, and social policy has a wealth of world data.

More practical or marketing-related sites include: NBER's current population survey files and the U. S. Dept. of Commerce's "Stat-USA" files.

More generalized links will be cited under "Links" above. Your suggestions will be gladly received.
