The West Point Police Department Detective Division is currently made up of four full time investigators .  Investigators have received extensive training in crime scene preservation, evidence identification and collection, interview and interrogation techniques, and other specialized investigative procedures.

Detective Sergeant Boone Lairy handles a call on the Crime Stoppers tip line.
On average, the division opens between 40-45 new cases each month.  These range from felony crimes and narcotics investigations, to major misdemeanors and follow-ups.

The division utilizes a mobile crime scene van, that is fully equipped with latest evidence collection devices.
