| In September of 2000 the department instituted a bicycle patrol unit, to address the needs of a rapidly growing city. The unit consists of patrolmen that have received specialized training in police bicycle patrol operations and tactics. Assignment to the unit is on a voluntary basis. The department currently utilizes three fully equipped Trek brand police mountain bicycles. |
