Lab 2A-3: Enumeration Using LANguard in Windows
Purpose
Enumeration uses a tool Languard Network Security Scanner to get the resources on a particular network node that are available for network access. It obtains information about NETBIOS names, Shares, Users, Network devices, Password plicies, Open ports and Alerts.

LANguard Network Security Scanner
Procedures
Start the LANguard Network Security Scanner. In the target text box of the utility�s screen, place the IP address. Start by clicking the Start Scanning button.
Results
When I ran LANguard in the lab we could see print servers and computers on the network. We also obtained information about NETBIOS names, and Open Ports.

Reflection
LANguard is a very useful tool because it allows the network security administrator to determine what resources are being made available on the network. Some resources might be available and therefore vulnerable on the network without knowledge or planning by the IT staff. With LANguard we also can determine if the resources are vulnerable and decrease the risk on Windows networks.
