Day 15: South Kensington Museums
Day 15 - Monday - 23/12/02 -
               South Kensington Museum Walk:
Along one street there are several museums. The biggest is the
* Victoria and Albert Museum - best seen with a guide as it is a design museum, and has LOTS AND LOTS of exhibits. The museum offers free tours every hour or so.
The museum was build after the great exhibition of 1855. An exhibition which purpose was to make British products better looking - and not just functional.
After the exhibition was over it was decided to open a design museum - which later became The V&A.
I also wandered a bit in
* The Science Museum.
Remember - all museums close at 17:55.
To eat lunch I went back to Kensington Palace to try out another afternoon tea in the
*Orangery (see Day 10).
