| Day 10 - Wednesday - 18/12/02 - Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens: I started my walk at the Marble Arch station - where once was the Tiburon area - where all the public executions once took place. I walked passed Speakers Corner - where there were no speakers - maybe because it was a rainy week - even though this day had a nice weather - and the sun finely came out - first time since I came to London. I walked south to the Serpentine, and from there, along the Serpentine to the * Serpentine Gallery, where I saw a great Manga exhibition. I looked at the Albert Memorial, and went north to see the Italian Fountains and the Peter Pan Statue. From there I went passed the round pond (there were so many water birds there) and came to Kensington Palace. ** Kensington Palace has nice gardens in front, and is a bit expensive but it is worthwhile. I saw a nice exhibition of dresses and clothes of the nobility, from the 17th century onward. The exhibition included the wedding dresses of the queens since Queen Victoria (and included the dress of Queen Elizabeth), and also several dresses of Princess Diana. I ate lunch at the * Orangery in the garden - a great soup and fabulous five oclock tea.
