Saturday afternoon, Ann, Andrew, and I flew into Prestwick Airport, rented a car, and drove the short distance to West Kilbride.
Our first, and best, destination was the home of the Campbells, parents to classmate Neal, who live in a beautiful town about 30 minutes west of Glasgow along the coast.
They encouraged us to go for a little walk around the town before the sun set, so we could stretch our legs after the flight get our first look at Scotland.
We walked up, down, and around the village in about 30 minutes and eventually ended up at the beach in time for sunset. After a good night's rest we were ready for the ferry ride to and drive through the Highlands. |
