Pray, pray very much, and make sacrifices for sinners; for many souls go to Hell, because there are none to sacrifice themselves and to pray for them. - Our Lady of Fatima
October 13th is the day the Sun Danced at Fatima.  When God performed a miracle through Mary's intercession for all the believers and non-believers present at Fatima.  I have always had a personal devotion to this particular apparition of Mary and hope once the third secret is fully examined October 13th will be made an official Marian feast day.  Feast day or not we're so happy to be getting married on such a special day.  This day falls on a Sunday. Justin and I thought with so many out-of-towners a 3 day weekend would help.  As for Sunday, Italians believe (at least in my family) it to be good luck to get married on a Sunday.  Plus, St. Marie's fills up fast for Saturday weddings.  It's at  3pm and will count toward the Sunday obligation for Catholics.

St. Marie's, is one of the most beautiful churches in New Hampshire.  The first time I went to mass there I knew I had to get married there.  Anyway, in my neck of the woods of New Hampshire most Catholic parishes are cultural.  Being close to Canada and close to Boston we have a lot of Irish, Italian and French parishes.  St. Marie's as you guessed is French.  It was built in 1880 in honor of The Blessed Mother and burned down in 1890.  All that remained was one statue of Mary that remained unharmed by the fire.  The statue is cased on the left of the church in the front and is known as the Miracle Mary Statue.  In 1890 the parishoners built a bigger and better church with a steeple that can be seen for miles with stain glass windows of Marion apparitions.
Here's the guy that's going to marry Justin and I.  You may recall him as our Friar Lawrance from our Romeo & Juliet explanation.  John will be ordained a priest by the time October 13th 2002 rolls around.  We are so lucky to have a friend from college that knows our history marrying us.  I don't think there is a better man for the job.
