Fairly easy going to moderate walking depending on recent weather conditions. The reserve is about six miles all the way around taking in several different habitats. It can be broken up into manageable chunks. Time spent can be all day or an hour or so at different locations around the reserve. The afternoon could be spent at one of two sites. We could go in searh of either duck and wintering E.Bittern, or Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Hawfinch and woodland birds.

PLEASE NOTE: Boots are recommended. Walking is easy going, flat but can be muddy following rain.

Walking is easy going around the trees but can get muddy around the lake shore. The afternoon can be spent in search of Hen (Northern) Harriers as they come to roost at the RSPB reserve or visit Sherwood Forest and the mighty oak where Robin Hood serenaded Maid Marion.
