This list is only a guide. For example some resident species are known to migrate to and from the UK, fluctuating numbers at certain times of the year. Species like Blackbird and Robin increase significantly in the Autumn and Winter months.

Y= year round resident to Yorkshire
S= summer visitor, migrates to the UK to breed. Usually April - September.
W= winter visitor, migrates to the UK for the winter. Usually October - March (April)
