I loved music from a very early age. Puchased my first cassette at the age of 5. Culture Club, Colour by Numbers (I still have the tape to this day and I still love it).
My dad has always been in bands. I remember sitting quietly at the base of the stage watching them play, the old stuff, 50's and 60's rock. I still astound people with my knowledge of old lyrics.
Growing up a bit, I was the biggest Guns n' Roses fans, and i still find I listen to the CD's when I am driving long distances. I did the whole 80's cock rock thing, I was into Motley Crue, Skid Row and yep, even Poison. I fought with every girl I knew over the relative merits of Janet Jackson vs. Cinderella. It was interesting though, by the time I left the town I was in, there was an Axl poster in just about everyone's room :) I guess cock rock became more palatable as time went on. I howeverhad a whole Axl wall, I should find the photo of me in front of it.. I will post it if I find it.
I progressed to heavier music as I hit my teen angst years. I discovered Nine Inch Nails and Pantera. I played Fucking Hostile whenever I was angry, it was therapy of a sort. The same year I attended the Guns n' Roses concert. My first concert. Oh the nostalgia.
I began broadening my taste in music a bit after I finished High School. I gave Thrash Metal a go for a litle while, but I could never get right into it. I tried... but to no avail. I began to lose my mindless mantra of if it doesn't have big hair it isn't rock... just kidding, I was never THAT bad!
Now I will listen to just about anything. Some current favorites are:
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Eminem, Bomfunk MC's, Days of the New, Mindless Self Indulgence, Incubus, System of a Down, The Eagles, The Bloodhound Gang, Tea Party, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Culture Club of course, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Faith no More, and the list goes on and on... there is too much to list.
