Wow.
What to say about FSD?
In direct contrast with Dern Rutlidge's last support band, FSD totally blew us away. Lead singer Zeke has an incredible energy and an unbridled enthusiasm for performing, and the rest of the band back him superbly.
I arrived just in time for the opening of their set, and despite their lack of love for the wonderful suburb of Preston, they gave it their best shot, opening with a very powerful song (I wish I knew them well enough to be able to go into detail about the set list). All I know is I fell in love with the song "Crush"!!
Equipped with an apparently endless length of mike cable, Zeke wandered the floor of the pub, singing to various individuals and berating the pool playing pub goers up the back who didn't seem to want to enjoy the bands awesome set.
His gyrations were something that needed to be seen to be appreciated, leaps and bounds, self abuse, he gave himself some mean treatment, but the obviously hardcore fan group ate it up.
It is not often that I am impressed as much with a support act that I cannot wait to buy the CD, but I will be attending the CD launch on the 1st, armed with enough cash to come away with the CD! Thanks guys, for a great performance. I can see "Crush" as a high selling single.
The guys hung out in the crowd for Dern's performance, and chatted to my brother for a while, but they were on a seriously high trip and were a tad unintelligable. Each to their own. |
