Neverwinter Knights - New Timeline From the Histories of Connor Normal: 15 - 17 Tarsahk 1376: The Travelers run into an old friend, Cody Cobblefoot, and learn things aren't quite what they thought. The battle isn't about Good and Evil, but about Law and Chaos, with the Allies of Zhentil Keep and Thay being the on the side of Chaos and the Axis (including Neverwinter) are on the side of Law. Cody explains he was kicked out the Academy since he was chaotic. They decide to think more about the Academy's assignment to kill Manshoon. Cody tells them about a stolen artifact of Lathander. The Travelers agree to try to recover it. They travel to Shadowdale to learn more from Elminster, but don't get much information. 17 - 25 Tarsahk 1376: The Travelers travel to Dagger Falls and meet a crippled old man who claims to have been in the Lichlord's keep. He takes them into the desert to an ancient temple. They kill some monks, explore, and then find a secret stairway down to a room with four glowing doorways. 25 Tarsahk 1376: The Travelers try to figure which door to enter. Darvin goes through and the others discover they cannot. Impatience makes others go through other doors. Eventually, they come together. One of the rooms they find fills with muck, almost trapping Smitty. 25 Tarsahk 1376: The Travelers move through the fountain of blood into a room with a vampiric ooze and another fountain of blood. They encounter a vampiric medusa who escapes them, and free some future followers. They determine one hallway connects with the room Darvin fought the vampiric mage in. 25 Tarsahk 1376: The Travelers explore further, finding a series of small rooms with magical traps and the Guild seal on the doors. Beyond is a large room with a gigantic snake - this monster is quite effective at knocking down dexterity and then swallowing the victim whole, as it proves with Smitty and Barnaby (it spits the heart out of the former, apparently not liking the taste). One of the formerly petrified people sneaks around the back of the snake and releases a vampiric mage from its coffin (hidden by the many coils of the snake). Things get worse and the Travelers beat a hasty retreat. 25 Tarsahk 1376: The Travelers regroup and form a plan of attack. Returning to the Lichlord keep, they don't find the snake or vampiric mage, but the sarcaphogus spews out copper coins. They leave the room and explore more, wantonly using greater dispel magicks to clear the path ahead of them. The enter a room with several weak wights they dispatch quickly. Where are the tough undead? 25 Tarsahk 1376: The Travelers continue to explore the dungeon, unraveling the protective magicks as they go. After defeating four relatively minor vampires and collecting a significant amount of coins, gems, and art. They discover a secret room which Smitty enters in his swarm form, followed by the others. On the other side they discover everyone is ogre sized (though not exactly looking like Smitty). They are on the world known as Endhome, where there are only four Gods, and one is suffering for losing magic, presumed into the mists known as Ravenloft. 25 - 30 Vasaris 752: The Travelers return to their horses only to have the dead brigands rise as wraiths. Weapons seem to do little to them, but Illarion's arrows and Sorbe's blasts work. They press on to the inn, where they meet Kost the vampire slayer. They travel to Maykle, the land of the asylum. Kost learns that Victor is creating a new kind of undead. They press on to Karg, a fun loving place, which seems out of character for Darkon. They move on to Viaki, where they meet a family of Vistani. The soothsayer reads their fortunes. Updated: October 1, 2008. |
