Neverwinter Knights - What is Past is Future

From the Histories of Connor Normal:

??? (approximately 7 years in the past): The Heroes debate what to do. Some want to figure out how to get back to the future, while others want to take advantage of the time to improve themselves. One thing they do agree on is to try to find the portal. They are able to find the one that existed at this time in the past, but it is held by a rather powerful Shadow Dragon. After more debate, it is decided to stay in Kimlan and find their fortunes. Markheim's brother, Carson, offers them something of a map and adventure.

Ches 9, 1369: The Heroes venture to Castle's Ram, a floating small magical keep on a small island across the sea from the City of the Stars. They hear about Fire Giants that have a great treasure, but no adventurers have returned in good condition. The Heroes go into the valley and encounter a centaur family, learning their village was destroyed by the giants.

Ches 12 - 13 1369: The Heroes venture further into the island, spotting a large red dragon holding a gondola filled with fire giants fly overhead, before the dragon makes a wide, sweeping turn and drops a sticky substance onto Smitty. He jumps into the river to wash it off and it erupts into flame. They manage to get it off him. The dragon flies on. They next encounter two women running from three fire giants and dispatch the threat. The women, sisters, are Taso and Innikit Redleaf.

Ches 13 - 14 1369: The Heroes travel with Taso and Innikit to Hyiadramain's ranch and find it, not unexpectedly, ransacked. They search every building and find a few scrolls, but little else of help. After spending the night, they scry on the sister's father and mother, finding the former in the forest with fire giants and no sign of the latter. They teleport to the father and kill off the giants, freeing Kalakain Redleaf from the enchantment he was under. He doesn't know the whereabouts of his wife, but believes she is safe.

Ches 14 - 17 1369: The Heroes discover a giant war camp and decide to attack it. They lob in several earthquakes to soften the opponents up (and bury any treasure there might be) and then go in with spells, arrows and melee weapons a-blazing. The Heroes discover one of the captives is a yuan-ti princess and send Kalakain, Taso & Innikit to take her home (and also recruit the snake-people).

Ches 17 - 22 1369: The Heroes continue deeper into the valley. They find Uffatos the Treant and convince him they are here to help. Moving on, then come upon a tower in an anti-magic area. Barnaby and Darvin fly in to attack, losing the flight and crashing onto the roof of the tower. There is a short fight with gnolls.

Ches 22 1369: The Heroes battle the denizens of the anti-magic tower, starting with Barnaby and Darvin chazing the gnolls, then engaging the fire giants - six total, but the first three were busy torturing a centaur. When the giants prove to be too much for the Chaos Twins, they try to flee, but Darvin is killed. Barnaby manages to get out just as Smitty (with the aid of Illarion's arrows) killed the cave troll guarding the entry. The giants followed Barnaby out, but when the battle turned against them, they retreated back into the tower. Once the Heroes healed up, they stormed the tower again, only to find the inhabitants gone. They find Darvin's nude body and true ressurect him. Harold uses a wish to get Darvin's gear back. They search the tower but are unable to find how they escaped.

Ches 22 1369: The Heroes press on to the second tower in a driving snowstorm, after hiding from the red dragon circling overhead. They use magic to get on top of the tower and then Harold uses a rock to mud to collapse in the ceiling, then uses another one to collapse in the second floor. Except for the gnolls killed above, all other denizens are missing. After determining they didn't escape through the front door, they venture through the back. Beyond is a large complex where they find two gnolls who set off an alarm and a fire trap. They then encounter a fire giant barbarian with a half dozen gnoll guards, and then a small dragon.

Ches 22 1369: The Heroes press on deeper into the complex, encountering more gnolls and trolls. They find a helmet which seems to control two dire boars. In the next large chamber they find the dire boars (some which aren't contollable), where they are attached by the largest red dragon they have ever encountered, which hit them with its breath weapon and then disappeared, softening them up for the cave trolls.
