Forced to ally itself with Uriah Bishop, the Crucible return to the Underworld to search for information on the Malfeans, the Grand Maw and anything that may have to do with something called God's Arrow. While there, they receive an offer from Mister Jigsaw and find a horribly Spectred Amelia turned into a mouthpiece into the Hivemind. Through Amelia, the group discover the existence of a Memory Tower which the Malfeans and Grand Maw covet. They decide to make thier way there, making deals with other undesirables in hopes of finding a way to prevent the menace that is the Grand Maw.

Finding the memory tower, the Crucible enter to discover the tower is a gigantic Spectre that has been transformed into some form of structure. Separated by the many winding passages and by separate goals, the two crucibles are sadly reunited in the Heart chambers where they find a specialized Spectre waiting for them. Kate, John, Chet and even Uriah Bishop seemingly give their lives for the Crucible to defeat the monstrosity and free a man trapped to the memory strut. A man, whom as far as they could tell, is the embodiment of life first entering the realms of the dead: Abel.
