"We're not supposed to let them get through!"
Annie Harper

Rescued from the Spectral turf war, Annie Harper relates to the Crucible and admits to them that she was aware of the other side for a while now. She tells them that she had allied herself with some of the Malfeans and they have asked her to ensure no one crosses over to the world through the hive. The hives, it seems, are like passages between the Living World and the Underworld, cutting through the Maelstorm and avoiding its brutal deadliness.

Using the Crucible Horror to Inhabit the building, Chantal and Shep turn the building inside out to have all the living people safely out and all the hive material to be forced back. When a large mindshattering disgusting crab-like monstrosity emerges and thanks the Crucible for playing their part, the group ponders on whether they had just made dealings with the devil itself. It was then the unexpected occured. The hive suddenly imploded as the Crab thing attempted to leave, crushing it asunder as it ripped itself out of existence and tore a hole into reality itself. With a tear into the Underworld created, the Maelstorm surged into the chamber and nearly tore the Crucible apart had it not been for the Haunters' quick thinking. Realising the rift and the surging Maelstorm have to be stopped, the group ponders on what can be done when another complication rises to the fore. Vincent returns, demanding Uriah Bishop be surrendered to him. Not wanting to lose the only person who might actually know what is going on in the other side in full detail, the Crucible permit him to escape and thankfully watch Vincent focus instead on chasing after him rather than stirring up trouble for the group.

"Hurry! Close it!"
Uriah Bishop

Coming up with an intriguing plan, Bobby opts to come up to the rift itself and attempt to seal a Screamed Nothing rift that Andrew would toss directly infront of the tear. Using his Fourth tier, Consume, Bobby attempted to seal the rift, forcing all the Vitality he could muster to fuse the two portals together. Suddenly, just as Bobby thought he was about to lose control of the tear, fingers slip through from the other side and help him hold the two portals together. Bishop tells him to fuse them shut even if his fingers are severed in the process and Bobby does so. Once again the Crucible are forced to face the facts that the man who tried to murder them so many times has possibly saved them again.
