When the group attempts to take a lead on the activities of the Spectres, they uncover a horrible event that is about to cause more trouble among the living. Somewhere in the city, a rift was about to tear into the Underworld and unleash the Maelstorm into the Living lands. Acting quickly, the Crucible locate the possible areas where the rift could occur and succeed in finding the many Terms Co. offices which may house the incident. But when Annie Harper herself is pinned down by what can only be described as a turf war between two Spectral groups, the bigger picture begins to come to light.
