Considering the many possible foes, the crucible begin to plan out their course of action, including the still existing threat that Uriah Bishop poses to the group. With the meeting moved to a secondary Haunt, one which Hoyt Masterson and Kate Dennison had prepared in the past, the crucible eventually realises the stroke of luck that they have been blessed with when an event occurs much sooner than any of them anticipate.

In the weeks that had followed, with the Crucible teaching each other the new Horrors and Crucible horrors they have learned, as well as investigating the growing number of Haunts and kinds of Spectres, a great event occurs and catches the Crucibles almost wholly unawares. Everywhere in Boston, and possibly the world, Hives open up like blossoming flowers and discharge upon the world a flood of sand, winds and Spectres that spread outwards like a sentient hurricane. The Shadow Storm that happened nearly 3 years ago... is happening again.
