Jean and Herb's Third Daughter:
Linda Marquardt

Linda Marquardt, 1952
Linda Ann Marquardt, born December 7, 1951 (10 years after Pearl Harbor), was the first child born to Herb and his second wifeJean Carmichael Marquardt. She joined sisters Diane and Jeanne at the time. As a young child, Linda fell out of a small swimming pool and broke her leg. Not only did Linda have to contend with a leg cast, but she had to re-learn to walk. Linda's father nicknamed her "Devil" at an early age(and at summer family dinners we passed around "The Devil Bag" to collect corn cobs and paper plates.)

Linda graduated from SUNY Potsdam in 1973 with a degree in Psychology, and moved to Boston shortly thereafter. She stayed in Boston for nearly 25 years, and obtained her MBA at Babson College in 1988. She worked at several different hospitals and medical centers in administration, including Beth Israel Hospital. During this time, Linda discovered a passion for travel, and took yearly trips abroad. She especially enjoys France and Italy. In the early 1990's, Linda adopted a manx cat she named "Sleggs" after her family heritage.

Linda moved back to the Rochester area in 1997 and bought a darling house on 49 Delray Road, where she lives today with her cat, "Missy Tuesday" (named for a private joke she and her mother Jean shared). Linda is the administrator for a prominent allergy/immunology medical practice in the city. She has a very active social calendar, filled with new friends and ones that she has kept in contact with since her childhood.
