Ira, the oldest, was born in Caledonia in January 1872. He married Blanche Mabel Hanlon in 1897 and they lived in Dansville. Ira was an "implement salesman" and "1st City Clerk" from 1915-1922. He and Blanche had 3 children: Dayton J., Merle Clair, and Leroy H. Ira died on Valentine's Day in 1944. He is buried in Mumford Rural Cemetery in Wheatland, NY.
Peter was born in August 1873. He became the Caledonia Postmaster, and held a post in the Livingston County Agricultural Society and Tri-County Fair Association (click here for a really interesting schedule of events from the 1922 Pig Roast, when Peter was a Director and part of the Executive Committee). He married Mary B. Walkley in 1894 and they had 5 children: Olive Elizabeth, Mary Edith, Miller James, Jay Reid, and Glenn McIntyre. Peter died in 1947.
William George was born in October 1875. He married Lydia Blanche Brown in 1898 and they had just one child: Jean Isabel Carmichael. Not much else is known about this family.
Daniel was born in February 1879 and became a dentist in Leroy, NY. He married Caroline Lucy Adams in 1906 and had a daughter named Doris Jean. Daniel died in November 1955 in Batavia, NY. He is buried in Leroy Cemetery.

The above picture shows 6 of the 7 Carmichael brothers, including 2 from James Sr's marriage to Catherine Sinclair. The back was labeled by Jean Marquardt: Uncle Henry, Fred, Dan, Pete, George and James. Ira appears to be the only one missing.
Fred Duncan Carmichael was our James Jr.'s half-brother. Fred was married to Nettie Dabb, and had 2 children: Mary and James. The other half-brother, Henry, was a farmer. He married Sarah Jane Peddle and had a daughter, Ina May.

This picture is from 1930, and was recently found by Joanne Damboise mixed in with some family papers from Uncle James. It shows the 7 Carmichael brothers in age order.
