next day's entry
Well, this is it. Last night in the USA for 5 months. I'm actually a little nervous. It's creepy. It's scary. I'm excited about it, but at the same time there are moments where I kind of wish I wasn't going. But those don't last long. It's just a temporary thought. The main thing is that I feel like I am not prepared. Like I am forgetting something, but I know that I would feel this way if I had an extra month to get ready.
I'm really glad that I got my flight changed, though. On the news, they talked about how there were so many wrecks this morning. The roads were very icy because they hadn't had a chance to melt. Today was a nice, bright, sunny day, though, and I saw a lot of the snow melting. Plus, my parents took my younger brother back to college and they drove all the way to Greensboro and said the roads looked fine, so I'm pretty confident that we'll be okay. I'm a little worried about Charles driving back though, since he has to go over three hours to get home.
It's funny to think that if it weren't for the snow, I would be in Mexico right now. I'm sort of glad it snowed! Mostly because Charles and I got to spend more time together. We had a good time overall and I am confident about us while I'm in Mexico. Hey, I didn't tell you that my dog bit him yesterday, did I?!!! It was horrible. He went outside when one of our mean dogs was out and by the time I got out there and told my little brother to put the dog up, it had charged him and bit him. The bite looked pretty bad at first and I thought that it would be really bruised, but we took care of it and all. It should be fine. We checked it again today, and it's not even bruised. I just told him to keep an eye on it for the next few days. This will be an interesting story for the kids!! Heheheh. No- yesterday we were talking about how in a few years this will be very funny. It's nice that we can laugh about it now. He's been a really good sport about the whole thing, though.
Well, I'm going to head to sleep. I am leaving at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning and the plane leaves at 10:20. I have a few extra things to do tonight, and don't want to be losing it tomorrow morning.
I guess the next time I write, I'll be in Mexico!
