| Hi! I am typing earlier than usual today because I am done with classes. Tusdays and Wednesdays are my good days of the week. I only have one class on Tuesdays at 1p.m. and none at all on Wednesdays. Unfortunately, though, I have to report to campus tomorrow because of a group project. I am starting to get frustrated with these group projects. I currently have three group projects, for three different classes. Now, granted, these are short, simple projects, but that almost makes it even more annoying. If I am going to have to meet with people to do a project, I at least want it to be for something important. Anyway, I have to come here at 6 p.m. tomorrow to meet with my group. It is actually okay, though, because I probably would have come to campus anyway to check my e-mail. Hey, I didnt tell the other day about how my house father suprised me the other night for dinner with Kentucky Fried Chicken! I was so excited! I thought that was so nice of him! It was late and he went out to get dinner and apparantly, he remembered that I mentioned how happy I was that I had seen a KFC downtown. It was really good, too. I had it for lunch again yesterday. Also, when I went downtown with Sandrine on Saturday, we ate at McDonalds. Actually, she didnt eat, but I ordered food. I thought the food was pretty good. It was about the same quality as any other McDonalds. The menu was pretty much the same, except they didnt have the fish sandwich. They also had a couple of other items that I have not seen in the US.The only bad things was that the service took FOREVER and that the inside of the restaurant was rather dirty. Now, granted, I have been to bad McDonalds in the US, so Im not at all saying that it was that way because it was in Mexico. Sandrine was really disgusted though, and felt like the restaurant was entirely too dirty. She said that she was glad I ate there so that she would know not to ever come back. I was telling my house father about this and he was saying that she probably felt that way because the McDonalds in France are spotless- superclean. I dont know. Yes, it was dirty, but Ill probably be going back. I guess this is starting to sound like I eat a lot of fast food here. I actually dont and there are not a lot of fast food restaurants here, either. To my knowledge, there is one of everything, meaning, of the ones I have seen so far, there is only one restuarant in the whole city. There are many more family-type owened restaurants on the sides of the streets. Those are the equivalents to fast food here, and theyre not bad. Most of them have good food. Well, as far as spiders, I didnt see any yesterday, so thats good. Hey- one more thing, I got a really random e-mail the other day. I went to go check my university mail, which I never use. I just went to make sure there wasnt any kind of notice or anything. I looked, and there was an e-mail to me from the girl that used to be my best friend in the 3rd grade. She moved away that year, and I never really heard from her again. I think we might have written letters once, but thats it. Well, after what, 12 years (yeah, because I was eight in the 3rd grade), I get an e-mail from her! She had found my university e-mail and told me how glad she was that she had found it. She is going to college at the University of Pittsburgh and majoring in Pre-Med Neuroscience and doubling in Spanish, too. Strange, huh?! I just thought Id throw that in. It was a really big, but nice surprise! Maybe Ill write tomorrow, provided that something interesting happens! |
