| Okay. I cannot beleive what just happened. I left the computer lab like, 15 minutes ago, and got ready to go buy something to eat. As I was walking out the door, I realized all of a sudden, "Oh my gosh! I dont have my purse (yes, I said gosh)! Anyway, I thought about it for a second and knew that I had brought it to school with me. I remembered that the only place I had taken it off at was the bathroom. So, I run to the bathroom and it wasnt there. I ran to the classroom that I was last in and the door was locked. I went and asked some janitors that I saw standing around the bathroom and they said they werent the ones who cleaned the bathroom, and that that person would be back later. So, I decided to go to campus security and check there. I asked and sure enough, someone (a student, it turned out) had turned it in! I was soooo happy! So, he showed me this little piece of paper that had a report of all the stuff that was in it and I checked through for it and it was all there. I was so scared because I had one credit card in there, my ATM card, 50 pesos (the only cash I had left), and my house keys! The only reason I had my ATM card in there was because I was going to get some money out today for the weekend; normally, I leave it at home. I asked for the name of the girl to thank her, because this could have been a nightmare! I cant beleive I left it in the bathroom! Its funny because just the other day a friend of mine here left her backpack in a taxi and the driver returned it to the school for her. I happened to be standing near the security desk when he turned it in, so I saw her the next day and asked her about it. I was like, "Hey, did you get your bookbag back from the taxi driver? Wsant that nice of him to return it?" and she was like, "Yeah, it was really nice of him to return my bag. I just wish he had left my $200 camera and my $100 cash in it." I felt so bad for her. She had lost it on Friday before her vacation to Ixtapa and so she had no cash and had already cancelled all of her credit cards and ATM card, so now she has to wait for a new ATM card, and no telling when that will arrive. I serisoulsy cant beleive this. I am so happy that girl turned it in. The only thing that might be missing is 50 pesos (the equivalent of $5 USD). I cant remember if I put it in my purse this morning. I think that I did. I think that I left the house with 100 pesos, but there is only 50 in my purse. Honestly, though, at this point, I dont care if the girl did take a 50 peso tip with her...Im just glad I got all the other stuff back. Especially since Im still waiting on the check to come from my parents so I can pay my school bill, because I have like, $2,500 on that ATM card, which is all the more reason to be nervous about somebody taking it. If I hadnt found my purse, I would have had to cancel my ATM card and my main credit card, and that really, really would have sucked. Well, everything else that happened today is trivial. I got my Phonetics test back and just as I had though, did terrible on it. I am not enjoying that class at all. I just took a Literature test and dont think that I did extremely good on it, but probably passed. This is so funny, because I never talk about just passing, but with the Phoetics class, I think Ill just take what I can get so that I never have to take a class like this again! Anyway, have a good weekend and maybe Ill be able to write sometime before Monday! |
