previous day's entry
Thursday, February 28, 2002  2:00 p.m. next day's entry
Well! I have a lot of plans for the next few days and very little speculated time to do the little bit of homework that I have. I say this because I dont have an awful lot of homework, but I cant ever seem to get it done. It seems like several things have popped up as far as plans are concerned, so Im not 100% that I will or will not be doing anything this weekend.
But lets deal with today. Well, let me finish with yesterday. I went to the University of Morelos to meet Sanatiel, my friends brother. I actually was very productive while there. We had made plans to do homework and stuff, and I got a couple of things done that I had wanted. He didnt really have any homework (as usual, they never do), but I really liked that university. It feels more like the Universities back at home than Tec de Monterrey, my college here. TEC feels more like a high school, and I guess thats partially because it
IS a high school (we have a high school prepatory here as well). Anyhow, his school is closer to the mountains and therefore, has a different climate than other places in Cuernavaca, which is always strange. It reminded me a bit more of North Carolina, (the trees and all) and I definitely enjoyed the temperature change. The weird thing is that its only like 15 minutes from where I live. Strange.....
Anyhow, I got home from there at like, 3:30 and decided to take a nap. I was still deciding whether or not I was going to church. I felt somewhat obligated to go  because Becky had introduced me to the woman here at our school and I expressed interest the day before, so I decided to go ahead and try it out. Needless to say, I will not be attending church on Wed. nights anymore. The problem is that because theres only one service, they are not pressed for time like they are on Sunday nights and as a result, the service went on and on. We finally left after over 2 and a half hours. As much as I enjoy going, Im sorry, but that is too long to be sitting/standing in one place. Plus, the man from last night was a bit boring. Anyhow, I think I will just keep going on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and at least I know that come
12:30 (the time of the next service), it will definitely be time to go.
After church, while Becky and I were waiting for the lady we had come with, Becky introduced me to some of her friends, Chris and Raul that she had met through another friend. They were really cool. I will go into more detail on them another day. Anyhow, after we left, we went to the supermarket with the lady (I cant remember her name) and while there, both Becky and I also picked up a few things. Well, when we reached the counter to pay, she would not let us pay for our food! She paid for everything. Both of us had gotten maybe $10 worth of little things, mostly junk food. I felt so weird! I mean, she offered and we tried to say no, but she wouldnt let us. And shes young- like, late twenties! So, now, I feel kind of obligated to keep going to church with her on Wed. nights because if I stop going, Ill look like I just used her and didnt care. I just cant win!
When I got home, Claudia told me that Charles had called. I was kind of disappointed because I definitely could have talked to him yesterday. I just felt like it. Then, as I was walking away, she was like, "Oh, and I think...Ignacio called?" I was like, "Oh really?" She said that he said he would call back but that he hadnt yet. I figured that if it was important, hed call back, and sure enough, at around 10:45, he called. We talked a bit and he did some sort of an apology (like, not really saying it but explaning to me why he hadnt called, you know?) and wanted to know if I want to go to this party/club thing that he has 3 tickets to tonight, and that I could bring a friend. I said Id let him know today around 6:30, because I was planning to go to Lucha Libre tonight. He said he could meet me there, but I still dont know exactly what I am going to do. Well, I am out of space and I guess Ill write again tomorrow about what is going on!
