| Well, I was supposed to have class today at 4, but the teacher didnt show. Everyone was eager to practice the 15 minute rule, so at fiftteen minutes, we left. It really didnt matter to me either way, but its not like Im just going to sit there and wait for the teacher, either. It was funny because they were all like, "Yeah, hurry up! Everybody out! It wont work if one person stays!" This is true. Even so, I do think that fifteen minutes is sufficient time to wait for the instructor. I dont know what the rule is here, but I know that back at home its 10 minutes for student teachers and 15 for professors. Not too much happened yesterday, except that I went to church in the Centro. While there, I met an American girl from Ohio and we ended up walking around and had lunch. Actually, we were walking back to the church and I got lost. Not really lost, but I just couldnt remember exactly how to get back to the Centro from the church. I got to the church from the Centro relatively easy. It was kind of funny because church ended at 12:30 but we didnt get back to the centro to eat until around 2:30. Fortuntately, she wasnt too upset about the walking. Neither of us really had anywhere to be, so it wasnt a problem. I finished two papers last night, and was happy about that. I didnt do an awful lot of work this weekend, but I did reasonably good. My friend, Kahuna, was telling me that hes just going to stop lying to himself and telling himself that hes actually going to do homework over the weekends because it never happens. I happened to run into him while leaving El Centro yesterday. He had the same intentions as I this weekend, which were staying home and getting things done. Needless to say, by yesterday, it had hardly happened. Im still trying to figure out what to do with Spring Break. I actually thought about trying to go home for spring break. The break is about a week and a half, so I was thinking I could go home, visit everyone, get my hair done, eat some American food, etc... I just looked at plane tickets, though, and the best I have been able to do is 599 for leaving from Mexico! That is more than just going to Cuba would be. Actually, I just thought of something. I could use the return ticket that I already have and purchase another one for leaving from the US. See, the student travel agency, where I get discount tickets, doesnt allow for travel originating in another country. I guess the biggest thing is that I would feel kind of like a cheat if I went home. Then, I really wouldnt have spent 5 months in Mexico. It would be like I didnt really "do" it. I dont know. Well see what happens. Well, I am going to head out because at 6:30 I am meeting this girl I met on Friday to go walking. She is 22 years old and a teacher at the school across the street from me. She seemed pretty cool, so I figured it wouldnt hurt to walk with her and meet another person. I think I want to take a nap before I go, though, so I need to go ahead if Im going to do that. Maybe Ill write tomorrow! |
