| The computers are running pretty fast today so I figured Id go ahead and get in an entry. I need to seriously limit myself as to the time I spend on the computer because I have other things to do this evening. I spend so much time just wasting surfing the net, looking at the most random stuff, too. Like, during Literature Class (which happens to take place in a computer lab on account of lack of space), I was looking through this web page of home remedies, mainly Mexican home remedies from the curanderos or just grandparents and such. Pretty interesting, the things people claim work. I really beleive that a lot of things work that we dont know about or dont have faith enough to try. Anyhow, I have to go out this evening and look for a lamp. I dont think I wrote yesterday about how I was sleeping on Sunday morning, well, not sleep, but in that lying down in the bed stage. I felt my pillow at the end of the bed, and wanted to go ahead and either throw it off the bed or pull it back up closer because it felt like it was going to fall off any minute. So, I just kept laying there and eventually, it fell off the bed. No problem. There wouldnt have been a problem, either, if I hadnt heard a big CRASH next. I looked up and the lamp from the nightstand at the end of my bed wasnt there anymore. I was hoping that the lightbulb had broken, but that was scientifically impossible seeing that the lamp shade is covering it up on all sides. So, I get up, look, and sure enough, the base of the lamp, which was some type of porcelain material was broken into several parts. All I could do was just lay back down and think, "Why? Why this? Why now?" I already didnt feel good that morning. So, I seriously contemplated going to the store and buying some superglue and trying to put it back together. Then I asked myself, "Is this what an honest person would do? Is this what a good, nice person would do?" Unfortunatley, the answer was "no," so I decided to just tell Claudia and offer to buy them a new one. She told me where they bought it, and I dont think it should be too expensive. I sure hope not. So much for my budget. I bet this happened because I tried to create a budget to stick by. I should have just said Ill spend all of my money up until Im broke, and I probably would have found a hundred dollars on the ground or something. Other than that, things are going pretty good. I am trying to blow time because I want to go lamp-shopping when it cools off some. I dont like riding the buses in the heat. Also, I am feeling good because I have the opportunity to finish up a lot of work, soon. Next Monday, I do my final presentation for Communications. I went ahead and chose the first date so that I could be done early and just watch everyone elses for the last week of class. Of course, this now means I need to be prepared and have everything ready for next Monday. Incidentally, when we were selectng dates to present for Composition class, a whole lot of people raised their hands to do the last date, so now, I have 2 to do on the same day. But the good side to that is, of course, that now, I can just work really hard this weekend (yeah, right) and be done with two of my classes next Monday! |
