| Lately I have been extremely delinquent in reference to my journal entries. I hate that, but it really isnt because I dont want to write. I just havent had time. And, when I do have time, I come into the lab, and the computers are all slow because theres too many people in here or people are playing video games. As a result, I just dont have the patience to wait for the program to load, and then I would also have to wait forever for all the changes and pages that I make. So, I just kept waiting until a more convenient time to write. I had a really nice weekend. I didnt really get much of anything done as far as work concerned, but I didnt really have much. On Friday I went with Becky and Allegra as usual to that restaurant that we really like downtown, BUBA. It is so good! It was my first time eating there, I dont know if I already mentioned. Usually I just go and sit and talk and have coffee and cookies because I wasnt hungry. So, this time I didnt eat anything and by the time I got there had a good appetite. I was so full when I left and the funny thing is that most of what I ate was vegetables! See, Allegra is vegetarian and she usually has dificulty finding a place that she can go and get a really good meal. This place is her favorite and it has a huge selection of vegetables prepared in different ways and then other foods made from soy or vegetables, like the potato tacos. There is also meat and chicken here, too (its all a buffet). So, I got a lot of vegetable dishes first and meant to have gone back for chicken, but by the time I was done, I had no room for chicken! They also give you drink, bread and a dessert here, too. Anyhow, this is what we usually do on Fridays, so well probably go back again this week, which is fine with me. It was a good thing I ate good Friday evening because when I got home, Claudia had fixed this turkey with gravy. Now, normally, this would not be a problem, but this was leftover turkey that had been in the fridge for 2 weeks on tomorrow. I didnt really want to eat it but it looked good, so I ate a little bit and threw the rest away. The turkey is still in the fridge and she better not try to fix it, because it is growing things now. I took a big hunk of it and fed it to these dogs in the street this morning because I feel sorry for them and theres no reason to let the turkey go to waste, especially when Im not eating it. I dont know why she fixed such a huge turkey in the first place. On Saturday, I went with Delphine to Tepotzln. She hadnt been and so we just walked around and looked at things. We ate at a cheap little restaurant where I got the best hamburger Ive had here for only $1. It was so good. We also got 15 minute massages at this place. We had seen a sign and really wanted one. It was nice- definitely too short, though. I also wish the man would have used more force, but oh well- it was only $5. There are several spas in the town, so we might return later for an hour massage. We found one place and it was offering them starting at $35 for an hour. I will see. There are probably some places in Cuernavaca, too, so Ill have to check that out. Dephine is definitely interested. We didnt climb the mountain, however. She didnt really want to, and that was fine with me. I had told her, though, that if she wanted to do it, I would do it again with her. We also ate ice cream in this really cute place that had the BEST icecream. I cant recall the flavor, but it was something like butter pecan with little pieces of chocolate. I dont know what it was, but it was good. Sunday was church and then out to eat again- the usual with Becky. My tuition doesnt cover dinners on Sunday, so thats usually when I go out to eat. Delphine came along and we went to Sanbournes, and English department store here that also has a bar and a really nice but well-priced restaurant. We had a good time. Afterwards, Becky and I came to school to study and work on Phonetics. We have our 3rd set of exams coming up this week. Not looking forward to that at all, but at least this is it until exams. Five more weeks to go! |
