| Hi! All is pretty much well here as far as life is concerned. I have been extremely content lately, as far as the weather. Now it is feeling more like an eternal spring here! Usually at night, it storms a little, in some cases, a lot. The result is that the mornings are cooler and lately, the days have been a perfect temperature, too, with sunshine but nice clouds along with it. The funny thing is that I pushed my bed close to the window around Sunday, so that I could be cooler. Well, since then, it has cooled off a lot. Claudia and Andre thought that was a good idea, putting the bed there. It definitely helps, but two nights ago there was a storm, and it was kind of creepy sleeping beside the window. It was really loud and I could see the lightening. In general, though, I like storms a lot and find them relaxing. Nothing majorly exciting going on- I guess thats why I havent written much. I went to the movies twice yesterday. I like to go on Wednesdays here because the two big theaters, Cinemex, both have discount Wednesdays. If you go, it only costs 19 pesos, which is about 2 dollars. So, in the morning, well, evening, I went alone to see that John Travolta movie, Domestic Disturbance. I really enjoyed it. It is a kind of thriller, but realistic thriller, you know- the Michael Douglas type. In the evening, after church, I went with Becky and some people to see Shallow Hal. I had already seen it, but it is so good that I didnt mind seeing it again. I seriously recommend this movie- it is so funny and the message behind it is really nice at the end. You will laugh so much. I was also extremely happy to see that both movies were filmed in North Carolina. A lot of people dont know that so many movies are filmed there. Shallow Hal was filmed in Charlotte and Domestic Disturbance was filmed in the little town where Charles is living right now, Southport! It was so funny becase the name of the town in the movie is Southport and it was a beach town, so I started wondering. I knew that a lot of movies are filmed in Wilmington, and Southport is near Wilmington. So, I wait for the credits and sure enough, I was right! I was so excited! I dont know why- I guess just seeing NC and knowing that I had been to the same place that I was watching on screen was exciting. Also, I was so proud because when we were watching Shallow Hal, Mauricios mother (a friend of ours) asked about where the movie was filmed because it was so pretty! I was like, "I know! I know! Charlotte, NC, where I live!" Even though I dont really live exactly in Charlotte, its close enough. But after the movie they kept talking about how pretty it looked there and I was so proud because it really does look like that in NC- nice and green and clean and lots of trees and pretty houses. I cant wait to go back. Also, I think I might have a job squared away for this summer. Charles mother is in charge of hiring someone to work at this YMCA summer program and he was telling her about how I was thinking about getting a waiting job this summer. Well, she suggested that I might like this YMCA position, since Im in the field of education. It pays about $7-8 an hour, with me working 11 hours a day if I choose, Monday through Friday. Wed do fun stuff like take the kids to the pool, movies, skating, Fourth of July festivals, and all that kind of stuff! Plus, Id get to spend the summer with Charles, which I know he really wants. So, I have about 3 weeks to say whether or not I want it, but I think I already know- I do! |
