Delhi Dolphins Swim Team
HISTORY
The Delhi Dolphins Swim Team started in 1991 as a competitive summer program. The team had approximately 20 swimmers who competed in small meets with local swim teams such as Cobleskill and Schoharie.  When interest in competing year round increased, the Delhi Dolphins registered as a USA Swim Team and began sending swimmers to Adirondack Region USA meets. All the swimmers who have competed throughout the years with the Delhi Dolphins Swim Team have had memorable experiences.  They have taken with them many skills which will serve them for a lifetime: development of the sport of competitive swimming, self-discipline, a sense of fair play and many friends.

Currently,  the team is comprised of swimmers from Delhi, Andes, Meridale, Roxbury, South Kortright and Walton.  In the 2004 -2005 season several Delhi Dolphin swimmers competed in the Junior Olympics.

The Delhi Dolphins Swim Team has thrived, thanks to the support of the residents and business owners of Delaware County; SUNY Delhi; Delhi's administrative officials, tremendous coaching staff, enthusiastic swimmers, and their diligent parents.

PURPOSE
The Delhi Dolphins Swim Team  vision is to offer physical advancement in developmental and advanced competitive swimming skills, social adaptation, boosting self esteem and personal growth for any child who is eligible. Another purpose of the program is to offer team members a chance to compete if they wish to.

The Delhi Dolphins are a very family oriented team because parents volunteer, supervise, fundraise, provide transportation to away meets, and assist at home meets .  The goal of this organization is for the swimmers to continue to benefit from their association with the Delhi Dolphins Swim Team long after their involvement is over.
