A SUNY Delhi graduate, Coach K is celebrating his 8th season as the head coach of the men's and women's swimming and diving programs at SUNY Delhi.
In the early 1990's, Coach K was the first Delhi Tech student to teach swimming and was also named assistant coach. In January 1999, Coach K took over as head coach. He was named the 1999/2000 and 2000/2001 Mountain Valley Conference "Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year". He captured the Mountain Valley Conference Championship with both men's and women's teams for the 1999/2000 and 2000/2001 seasons. Under Coach K�s leadership, his men's Bronco�s took a second place finish at the Region III Championship two years in a row. In addition, the men�s Bronco�s placed second at the North East District Championship in March of 2001.
In addition, Coach Kolodziej coaches The Delhi Dolphins Swim Team. The Dolphins are a registered USA community swim team who compete in the Adirondack Region. In the 2004/2005 season, three of the Dolphins competed in the Junior Olympics.
He is a member of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA), College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), NJCAA - Coaches Association in Swimming and Diving, USA Swimming, and US Diving. Coach Kolodziej is also a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, First Aid, CPR, Lifeguard Instructor and a Certified Pool Operator (CPO).
A 1993 SUNY Delhi graduate, Kolodziej also graduated from SUNY Cortland in 1997 and completed his masters at Cortland in 1999. John is a 1991 graduate of Amsterdam High School. Besides his coaching duties, he is the Aquatics Coordinator and teaches aquatic classes at SUNY Delhi. John resides in Delhi, New York.
