We've also seen the launch of my own Field Hockey Club in Cincinnati.  The Centurions have been practising for five weeks now, and has a regular turn-out.  This club will grow over time, and 2004 will prove to be a very big year for all of those invovled!

I've also accepted a couple more copaching positions at the afore-mentioned school - these should keep me busy!  It has been very difficult to get a job over here - arriving during the countries worst ever depression wasn't planned, but we're still smiling.  Saying that, the economy seems to be picking up again, and I am ever hopeful of finding a full time job.

Joy and I have managed to do a little more traveling since my last update - we flew Washington to see our friends (Nick and Jen Harris), Joy went to New York for the weekend with her sister, and we're off to Chicago this weekend to see the Blackhawks play the Detriot Red Wings.  You know what we're like, we love to visit new places!  Joy has a few things lined up for next year with work, and she'll be off to Colorado in the Spring.  Speaking of which, we're heading home for ten days in January - so, make sure that we all meet up for a beer or three (still miss Greggs Pasties and proper Indian currys).

We couldn't write about sporting news from Cincinnati without mentioning the 2003-2004 Bengals.  After having a really crappy season last yerar (the worst ever in NFL history), they have achieved levels of respectability, going 4-5 so far this year.  They've got a big game this weekend against the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs (9-0), who will prove to be a tough test for the home team - will the mighty fall??  We've been to a couple of games now, and we're really enjoying it.

The weather over here has been crazy over the past few weeks.  We managed to reach 27C last week, the whole week being between 23C and 27C.  Sunday however, dropped as low as 8C - I can't work that out.  It looks like the winter has arrived!!

We're moving into a townhouse in December - quite a nice village called Mariemont.  It is nearer to Joy's work, and nearer to all of the sporting venues etc. - so, we can expect to travel less!

Anyway, that's pretty much everything!
I hope that you're all keeping well!
Bye for now - Degsy

Time Flies!

I can't believe that it has been five months since my last update!?!  Time has definitely flown, and so much has happened.  After completing my coaching stint with Withrow High School, I accepted the Head Coaches job for Field Hockey at Saint Ursula Academy (a private school near downtown Cincinnati).
The season was packed with events including the arrival of guest coach, Miles Hudson, who supported the build up to our first league fixture, breaking both Varsity and JV school records, JV finishing second in South West Ohio and Runners-Up in the JV Tournament, two players being recognised as Varisty All-Star material (one of which making the All-Ohio team) - you can say that it was quite a successful year!!
