Cincinnati Mighty Ducks The farm team of the more famous MIGHTY DUCKS OF ANAHEIM, compete in America's second biggest hockey league - namely, the AHL. This team boasts a mixture of Ex-NHL Pros and future NHL talent. The standard is little better that their neighbouring ECHL Team (Cincinnati Cyclones), and the atmosphere can only be compared to that of early days at Manchester Storm. Whilst the majority of the supporters don't seem to care what goes on on the ice (they're more interested in the 20 foot duck and the give-aways), there is still a hard-core that know their Hooking from their X-Checking. Tickets range from $10 to $15, but the beer is really expensive and aren't full British measures! Defintely worth going though, and those who are coming to visit must expect Joy and I to take you there!
Cincinnati Cyclones For our sins, we seem to have adopted the city's worst hockey team. You would have thought that after years of watching the Newcastle team(s) that we would have elected to watch something of a far superior standard . . . well, you were wrong! These pictures were taken in December 2002, at the Clones game against the Toledo Storm (they lost 6-3). Interesting fact is that the Storm Goal Tender, Doug Teskey, is the son of Newcastle Vipers coach Clyde Tuyl. We also got to see Ex-Newcastle Viper, Martin Lapointe, play against the Clones for his team - Augusta Lynx, as well as other players that played in the UK like Dale Junkin.

of the other local sides - the standard of play, facilities, and the support at the Nationwide Arena is the best that Ohio has to offer. They have a very impressive roster which includes (Ex-Maple Leaf, and Flyer) Luke Richardson, Andrew Cassels, Rick Nash, Ray Whitney (of All-Star fame), Marc Denis, Jaroslav Spacek, (mad-man - and NHL PIM Leader) Jody Shelley, Sean Pronger, and Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre - to name but a few! Recently added David Ling (how is very handy with his fists!!!) to their fourth line who has been playing for AHL team Syracuse Crunch. Okay, they're never going to win the Stanley Cup, but they do have a very competitve side. Tickets start at $25 and go up to $150 (must be mad! - saying that, if I had it, I would pay it!!).
Columbus Blue Jackets The nearest NHL team plays just one and a half hours drive up the I-71 in Columbus. To be honest, there is no comparison between any
