Things To Do With Shoe Boxes
Ever wonder what to do with them? I used to just throw them in the
cupboard until the kids wanted to do something with them, until I came
up with this idea. Paint them all over inside and out (on different days of
course to allow them to dry on each side) with acrylic paint. Diagram 1.
After they are dry, glue a theme picture on the lid and write something
about what you are going to put in there, ie; One I did was for the
millenium celebrations. I pasted a picture of the fireworks from a
magazine, and wrote 'The Year 2000 Starts' on it. Diagram 2.
Leave for a day or so then paint with
clear laquer, again all over, inside and out. Diagram 3.
In my 2000 one I have a photo album with the pictures we took New
Years Eve and New Years Day, newspaper clippings from New Years
Day papers, party things, ie; unused 2000 cups, noise makers, hats, and
streamers, plus a small note book, written in by everyone we saw on both
days. It's a wonderful reminder of that wonderful two days when the
world celebrated as one! Diagram 4. |
