I thought I knew what to do when I started up my 55 gallon last Oct. 2003. I bought a Tropical Fish book, thinking I'd refresh my memory and skimmed over all the technical parts. Boy was that a first class mistake!! Although I started out fine, every Angelfish and Swordtail I bought would eventually die within 2 weeks.
Then one day Mike (hubby) was surfing the web and found this sight with alot of informative infomation on Fish Keeping. 'Badmans Tropical Fish Message Board', I decided to do some reading and found INFO that totally blew my mind. One of the best things about this site is if there's a problem, there is definitely help from very experienced and knowledgeable people. One other thing this site has done for me, it has given me love for my fish that just wasn't there. I mean, now I really care about their well being, they aren't just for show! Weird, but true. So saying, I'm in no way an expert, I'm a beginner in fish keeping. Learning daily and enjoying my fish tremendously! They are healthy and I like to believe, happy too. Besides fish, another new found passion of mine is Apple Snails. I now breed them for enjoyment, enjoying researching and visiting with applesnail.net message board for advise. Another great website for those interested in snails :)
For those of you that know us personally, when we moved to Fl. we lost our fish from the 75 gallon. We had to start back up with new fish. I am adding a page of the fish we lost in loving memory.
