This 10 gallon tank began in early Feb 2005. It houses White Cloud Minnows and Kuhlie loaches with 2 Asolene Spixi's and MTS's to aerate the sand. I have recently added C02 injections to help with the plant growth.
Black Kuhlie Loaches Distribution: Thailand, Malaya,Borneo, Sumatra, Java, Indonesia Length: 3 1/2 " Diet: flakes, freeze-dried foods, any small live foods They accept a wide range of water chemistries - pH of 5.5 to 7.5 and hardness up to 200 (ppm) Optimum values seem to be more like a pH of 6.3 to 6.8 and a hardness below 80 ppm. Cool temperatures are preferred (70 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit), but they will accept temperatures into the low 80s for short periods of time. Pictured are 2 of the 4 Blacks I have in this tank. They stay hidden most of the day but do come out at night, digging in the sand, and playing in the plants. They have made the diftwood featured above in the tank on the left their home and stay in there most of the day. These fish are very peaceful and are great community fish for small tanks!

White cloud mountain minnow Scientific/Latin name: Tanichthys albonubes Maximum length: 1 to 1.5 inches Temperature : 65 to 75 degrees F, can withstand 50 to 90 degrees F for short periods PH : 6 to 7 Hardness : Soft Life span: 3 to 10 years Diet: in the wild they feed on zooplankton and detritus. In the aquarium they eat most foods offered. I feed mine lots of flake food and frozen bloodworms. These also are great community fish but since they are so small, I'd advise caution on the species of fish you'd mix them with. They also prefer cooler temps, so once again you need to keep them with fish that also enjoy the cooler temperatures. They are very active and have great coloration! I enjoy watching them interact with each other as they are social within their groups. They are also very noisy and will bother the kuhlies when they come out at night. But they do not hurt them in any way, just bother them LOL These fish do well in 10 gallon planted set ups.
