Anyway, to fill in the blanks since then, our adoption file went to China in January and our official Log In Date (LID) is 30 Jan 08. This is the date that the official wait time is counted from, so we have now been waiting for 5 months (although it took 17 months to get the file to China in the first place!!). They say the wait time is about 15 months from LID, but there are rumours it will extend to 2 years. So we're expecting to be allocated sometime between July and December...NEXT year...still a long way to go.
In May we went to Sydney to visit Deb's relatives. It was great to see everyone (well, nearly everyone....I mean, we didn't see quite everyone, not that it wasn't great to see those that we did see...ok, foot out of mouth now...). And then we saw many of them again just this weekend past, as Deb's brother Nathan got married to Alison Carver on Saturday! It was about as warm as a Melbourne winter's day can be, nice and sunny, and the day went really well. See the home page for links to photos.
Jerome is currently looking for a new job, trying to move into IT training instead of IT support. It's hard to get that first break, but we're trusting that God will bring something along shortly.
Deb's job is going well - too busy as usual, but still doing just 2 days, as that suits Bethany and her well. Deb's mum continues to look after Bethany one day a week, and she goes to childcare for the other day.
Deb has also been busy trying to start a new support group at church for pregnant teenage girls. She has several others who are interested in helping out with the group too, but at the moment she is just busy planning the group, making contacts, doing research, etc. She also has plenty more to say on the topic if you're interested! (especially if you want to get involved.... :) )
I think that brings everything up to date. If I think of anything else, I'll add that later...
