Oops, missed last month's update....I've had a bit of problems trying to edit the website lately, but anyway, here we are.

We had a week away at the end of July - we went to Rye, on the Mornington Peninsula, south of Melbourne.  It was good to get away, just the 3 of us.  We had been waiting until Jerome found a new job, and then were going to have a week off between jobs, but we ran out of time, as I wasn't going to be able to take time off for awhile after this.  We had beautiful weather the whole week, which is pretty amazing for July!  See the home page for links to photos.

In August we took Bethany to the snow.  From the photos (again linked on the home page), apparently people think we had a good time.....well, Bethany didn't really enjoy herself!  I think she was too busy worrying to relax, and she barely moved the whole time, so her hands and feet got very cold, further adding to her misery.  But if you ask her about the trip now, she'll tell you she liked it!  I think the next time we go will be better, as she'll know what to expect.

September has been filled with birthdays, with Bethany's, Mum's and mine all within 8 days of each other.  For Bethany we just had a party with family, as we've decided to do parties with friends only every 2nd year.  We had a good time and photos again are linked on the home page.  She kept everyone amused, especially when making us do our exercises!!  For Mum and my birthdays we had a family BBQ on the weekend between the birthdays, and the weather was again good, although a bit windy.  Bethany again provided the night's entertainment, playing hide and seek with anyone who dared to be involved.

As to adoption - no news yet on how long this is going to take.  Several Australian families are now up to 18 months' wait, when they thought 15 months would be the maximum wait, and we're a year behind them, so who knows at this stage.....

Jerome found a new job in IT training at Sensis, who are rolling out a new software.  So he quit his old job and after a couple of changes to dates, had an induction day on Aug 27th.  He found out on that day that he wasn't going to start work until Sep 15th, but they would still pay him for the days in between!  Then on Sep 8th he got a call saying Sensis was giving him (and all the other trainers) 2 weeks notice, as the software wasn't ready to go yet!!  So he got paid for 4 weeks and only did 1 day's work!  Looks like it will eventually start in mid-Jan 09, so Jerome's trying to find a short term contract to fill in the gap, for which there are a few promising options.
