OBITUARY - PETER G. VLAHOS

Peter G. Vlahos - special to the Tribune Paris, ILL Sept. 1

Peter F. Vlahos 41, proprietor of a cigar store and pool hall on West Court Street, died at noon Wednesday at his home. He had been ill only a few days and was at his place of business Tuesday night at closing time.  He complained of a severe pain in his shoulders but was given treatment by a physician and died a short time later.

He was born in Greece, but came to America with his brother, Peter H. Vlahos when he was about 16 years old.  He operated a cigar store in Danville for some time and came to Paris in 1914.

Surviving are his widow, Velva, two children, a sister, Mrs. Demrot Bulleas, Danville, ILL and a brother Peter H. Vlahos of Paris.  The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Morrison Chapel with burial in Edgar Cemetery.

OBITUARY - DONNA LYNN CUNNINGHAM

Donna Lynn Cunningham - Paris ILL. Oct. 2 (Special)

Donna Lynn 4 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Cunningham, 419 E. Jackson Street, Paris, died early this morning at Paris Hospital.  The surviving father is in military service in Japan.  Funeral services will be held at the Blue Funeral Home at a time to be announced Friday.  Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery.

OBITUARY - JOSEPH WESLEY CUNNINGHAM

JOSEPH CUNNINGHAM, 67, POTLATCH CORP. RETIREE

Joseph W. Cunningham, 67 of Clarkston, a retired Potlatch Corp. employee, died of a heart attack Saturday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at Lewiston.

He was born July 2, 1923, to Samuel and Bessie Rice Cunningham at Paris, ILL.  He served in the U.S. Navy from July 15, 1943 to Dec. 20, 1944.  He lived at several locations in the inland Northwest, including a lengthy stay at Orofino, before moving to Lewiston in 1977.

For many years he worked for Potlatch Corp. at Ahsahka, Idaho, Kamiah and Lewiston before retiring in 1983.

An early marriage to June Coe ended in divorce.  He married Anna Marie Nantel, July 28, 1967, at Orofino.  She died Aug. 14, 1971.  He married Margaret R. Shamion, Sept. 1, 1972, at Orofino.  He and his wife moved to Clarkston in August, 1990.

Cunningham was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a 4th degree member of the Luke E. Hart Assembly, a member of Chapter No 18, Disabled American Veterans, Sourdough Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Clarkston Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf.

Survivors include his wife at Clarkston; three sons, Jim Cunningham of St. Maries, Idaho, John Cunningham of Orofino and Willard Cunningham of Charleston, S.C.' three daughters, Nancy Kirkland of Eureka, MO., Junellen Rassmussen of Clarkston and Sandy Cunningham of Spokane; two stepsons, Bill Shamion of Orofino and Dan Shamion of Spokane; three stepdaughters, Darlene Ibach of Uakima, Donna McNichols of Vancouver, Wash., and Dorothy Profitt of Las Vegas, Nev.; five brothers, Lloyd Cunningham of Port Arthur, Texas, Mack Cunningham of Paris, ILL., Leslly Cunningham of Peoria, ILL., Merle Cunningham of Sacramento, Calif., and Ron Cunningham of Oklahoma; four sisters, Myrtle Bennett and Maxine Wynn, both of Charleston, ILL., Frances Smith of Casey, ILL and JoAnn Montgomery of Texas; 27 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home at Lewiston.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m . Tuesday at St. Stanishlaus Catholic Church at Lewiston with the REv. John Morse, S.J. as celebrant.  Burial will follow at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens at Lewiston.

The family requests memorials be sent to the Kidney Unit of Sacred heart Hospital, W. 101 Eighth Ave., Spokane, Wash.  99204

OBITUARY - ROBERT W. CUNNINGHAM

Robert W. Cunningham, 78 years old, died at 7:50 o'clock Friday morning at the residence on R.R. 1, West Terre Haute.  He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Opal Barnhart, of Terre haute; four sons, Sammy of Tuscola, ILL; Harry of South America, John and Harold of R.R. 1; two brothers, George of Paris, ILL., and William of Terre Haute, and 15 grandchildren.  The body was taken to the Gillis Funeral home and Friday evening was returned to the residence.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the residence with burial in New Hope Cemetery.
