| In order to have a basic understanding of our world, it is important for even the youngest students to reflect about their environment and how they interact with it. The PLANT PARTS web quest is an activity that should be used as part of a plant unit. Science inquiry involves asking a question, planning, and conducting an investigation. Students should think logically as they complete the quest. Kindergarten students may need the assistance of a parent volunteer or advanced reader to help with the written information unless the teacher completes the activities as a whole group activity. The quest was created to meet the following Louisiana Science benchmarks. LIFE SCIENCE LS-E-A1 identify the needs of plants and animals LS-E-A2 distinguish between living and non-living things LS-E-A3 locate and compare major plant structures and thier functions LS-E-A6 recognize the food groups necessary to maintain a healthy body LIFE CYCLES OF ORGANISMS LS-E-B1 observe and describe the life cycles of some plants LS-E-B2 observe, compare, and group plants according to likenesses and/or differences |
