Todd Shirley
?
Todd Shirley (?) has been studying Aikido since early 1992.  He has a nidan (2nd degree black belt) in Aikido issued by the Aikikai hombu dojo in Tokyo, Japan.

"The first year I studied Aikido, I did not know it was Aikido.  I had a private teacher, Arun Thakur, who after one year had to return to his home country.  At the time of his departure he explained that what he had been teaching me was Aikido, and that I needed to find an Aikido dojo as soon as possible.  I took his advice when I returned to the San Jose area.  I was a community college student at the time, and I found Aikido of Los Gatos.  The classes were far from my home, and demanding of my schedule.  After the 2nd week I decided it was too much, and I requested a refund from the community center.  I was denied, and since I was very low on money I continued to make the most of my investment."
